Devils, Parise Reach One-Year Pact

The Devils avoided arbitration by signing left winger Zach Parise to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday night. The two sides continue to try to work out a long-term contract. The deal is worth $6 million, according to TSN. "It's a one-year settlement that makes sense for both player and club," Parise's agent, Wade Arnott, said. Parise and the Devils had an arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 3.

Callahan, Rangers Reach Deal

The Rangers avoided arbitration with restricted free-agent forward Ryan Callahan by agreeing on a new contract on Wednesday. Callahan's agent, Stephen Bartlett, said deal is for three years and $12.825 million. The deal will pay Callahan $4 million in each of the first two years and $4.825 million in the final year, according to a source. With Callahan not having to go to his Thursday hearing, the Rangers successfully locked up all four of their restricted free agents who had filed for arbitration.

Rangers Agree To Terms With Steve Eminger

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenseman Steve Eminger on a new contract. Eminger, 27, skated in 65 games with the Rangers last season, registering two goals and four assists, along with 22 penalty minutes. He made his Rangers debut in the season opener on October 9 at Buffalo, and tallied his first point as a Blueshirt with an assist in the home opener on October 15 vs. Toronto. Eminger ranked third on the team with 101 blocked shots. The Rangers posted a record of 4-1-1 when he tallied a point.

Dubinsky Agrees To New Deal With Rangers

Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Brandon Dubinsky on a new contract. Dubinsky, 25, skated in 77 games with the Rangers last season, registering 24 goals and 30 assists for 54 points, along with 100 penalty minutes. He established career-highs in goals, assists, points, power play assists (seven), power play points (11), and shots on goal (202). Dubinsky led the Rangers in points, goals, assists, and road points (26), ranked second in shots, tied for first in road goals (14), third in power play goals (four) and power play points (11), fourth in power play assists (seven), and led all team forwards in average ice time (20:13).

Lightning, Stamkos Reach Five-Year Deal

The Lightning and Steven Stamkos have agreed to terms on a five-year contract. He will earn $8 million in each of the first four seasons, and $5.5 million in the final year, according to a source. He will carry a $7.5 million cap hit annually. "Steven is extremely important to this franchise and is part of the foundation of our hockey team," Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said. "We are very pleased to have him signed and look forward to seeing him in a Lightning uniform for years to come." Stamkos, a restricted free agent, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 draft. He played in all 164 games the past two seasons, leading the league with 96 combined goals.

Maroon Agrees To Deal With Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks announced Saturday that they have signed left wing Patrick Maroon to a one-year contract. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed. Maroon, 23, was acquired by Anaheim with David Laliberte from Philadelphia in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010. The 6-4, 225-pound winger split the 2010-11 season with Syracuse and Adirondack of the American Hockey League (AHL), collecting 56 points with a +5 rating and 98 penalty minutes (PIM) in 66 combined games. He ranked tied for second among AHL leaders with 15 power play goals. Following his acquisition from Philadelphia, Maroon ranked second on Syracuse in points (48), third in goals (21) and plus/minus (+6), and fifth in assists (27).

Kings, Lewis Agree To Terms

The Los Angeles Kings agreed to terms on a two-year contract with forward Trevor Lewis, Kings president/general manager Dean Lombardi announced Friday. Lewis, 24, registered 13 points and six penalty minutes in 72 regular season games in 2010-11, his first full season in the NHL. Two of his Lewis' three goals proved to be game-winners and the 6-1, 195-pound native of Salt Lake City, Utah also finished tied for 10th among rookies with 102 hits. Lewis appeared in all six Kings postseason games this past season, tying for second on the club with three assists while totaling four points and two penalty minutes in the six contests.
